Hello, and welcome.

My name is Samantha Hodder, and you have found A+ Podcast Projects, a Teachable course to help you learn how to create a short narrative podcast. ANd this  can be submitted as your major term assignment for your class.

I have been telling stories for my whole career, and I’ve done this in a lot of different ways: from magazine, to film, to interactive. to documentary…I thought I had done it all. And then around 2008, I discovered a whole new world called narrative podcasting. And from there, I was hooked.

Over the years I’ve made lots of radio and podcast stories. I even followed a story all the way to Antarctica, for my podcast, This Is Our Time.   

And today, I want to help to get you to the end of the world with your story.

I’ve got over 10 years of audio production experience to share with you…and over twenty years of experience working with story structure structure, teaching students, and learning how to innovate an idea from concept, to reality.

I’ve had the opportunity to learn from the best teachers in the industry, and i’ve created, and then honed, my own tools, about how to develop a story, from just a small idea, into something real.

I promise I’ll make this journey both fun, interactive, engaging…and by the end, you’ll have the tools to create your own audio story. Which is, in my opinion, a great thing.

A couple notes: don’t be worried if you feel you have zero audio editing experience. I will bet you know more than you think you do, about how to edit, with years and years of creating social media posts, you’ve got the foundation. What you need to learn, is how to find a story, how to shape a story, and how to plan to capture a story.

And after the 10 lessons, you’ll have everything you need to create your assignment.
